Lucy Lou

It was bad lighting, but she just looked so dang cute. I'll have to retake these to satisfy the perfectionist in me.

Ode to the naps that used to be...

Isaac has decided he doesn't need naps anymore, so we're doing "quiet time" and I cross my fingers that he'll fall asleep. Last week I was sick so I let him watch more tv that usual so I could take a nap. I came out to find this scene on the couch...so precious. Boy do I miss those 2-3 hour naps, oh the work I used to be able to get done...and the blogs I used to frequent.

Some fun ones

I have been able to do a handful of family shoots lately. While I still think my camera does much better with just kids for some reason, here are a couple fun shots that make me smile.

At Bella's birthday party

The festivities started out with lizard races. Isaac enjoyed squeezing and petting the lizard.

He was all over that pinata.

Check out these hilarious masks that all the kids we wearing. We were dying laughing.

Our other weekend adventure

On Friday, Amy and our friends Blake and Leslie joined us at Tibble Fork, (up American Fork canyon) for what turned out to be not such a lovely afternoon. While the boys enjoyed themselves biking, the ladies dealt with all sorts of things.

First up was Livi falling in the sludge that surrounded the lake two minutes after arriving.

Then several microbursts which left all five kids crying, sand in our sandwiches and our chairs and blankets strewn across the dirt. Another highlight was a lovely tantrum by Isaac, followed by rain.

Despite it all, we're laughing about it (now) and did enjoy the beauty of our surroundings.

India Fest

This weekend we went to "India Fest" at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna temple in a very windy Spanish Fork. Does this seem like a random location to anyone else??

We enjoyed looking around the temple...

Playing on the elephants...

Eating delicious Indian food (our favorite!). As a side note, I cooked a friend's recipe for and Indian dish the other night. BIG MISTAKE. Our house STILL reeks and it was almost a week ago. Note to self: only eat at Bombay House when craving India food.

Feeding the llamas...

And watching our happy little girl smile at everyone from her carseat.

Ditto family

This are my brother-in-law's brother's family. Did you follow that? They were in Utah and asked me to take some pictures for them. Here are a handful of shots of the kiddos that I liked. Still editing the rest of the family shots.

Nemo is left HIGH AND DRY!

Yahoo!! Our first dry day in big boy undies!! Those of you who know my plight, know that this has been a LONG awaited day! Here are a couple shots of Isaac in our garage "fixing things". And yes, he is picking out his outfits these days.

And some sort of dance move he thought was real funny.

New talent: Blowing bubbles

The munchkins

My friend said to me the other day, "You do realize you're breeding clones right?" Yes, yes I am, and I'm pretty happy about it.

Fun weekend

After Geoff's amazing performance at the triathlon, we headed up to SLC for a little R and R. Our friend invited us to his parent's new house. We've heard them joke that it is the "Versailles of Utah". Um, yeah. It really was. I seriously wanted to take my camera and document it, but that would have been weird and I was enjoying myself in the pool. Instead I took a couple pictures of Isaac in front of these MASSIVE columns (which had to be railroaded in!). It was nice to spend time with our Salt Lake friends and swim to our heart's content.

*As an update for "Gail", whoever you are...Isaac has finally expressed some interest in potty training. After hundreds of failed attempts and pleadings, a trip to the dollar store seems to have done the trick in at least getting him interested in going.

What a man, what a man...

...and 5th overall. I think we've got a natural here.

Happy Birthday Amy

Today is the birthday of my best friend, Amy. We've known eachother for 10 years now. From the moment we met on the first day of school at BYU Hawaii, I knew we'd be fast friends.

After a brief separation, we were roommates again in Provo. Our crazy antics reached an all time high at this location (namely, Skyview pranks).

And now here we are, ten years later. Funny how some things never change: like the way we love to laugh together, how much we love spending time together, and apparently my haircuts. And how many things have changed: like our mode of transportation (Amy in a mini van...), marriage, and two kids!

I love you Amy, from the top of your thick head of hair to the side of your twisted pinky toe. Happy Birthday!

Farm Country

We went to Thanksgiving Point with our friends the McPhersons today. It was a toasty day, but we had fun looking at the animals. As a parent, I was a bit disappointed at the lack of educational info on the animals, but oh well, it was still fun.

Isaac LOVED riding the horses. He went twice and then watched other kids ride for atleast 10 minutes.

Bella and Isaac.

Isaac doing what he does best...yelling.

What a poser.

We went to Porter's Place in Lehi afterwards. Delicious greasy food in the coolest atmosphere (the scones are a MUST HAVE). Isaac didn't want to sit at the bar with Bella, but I loved this shot.

A post for Uncle Matt

This darling shirt was given to Lucy from her Uncle Matt. He's been very upset with me that I didn't take a picture of her in it. Truth is she's 3 months old (today) and it just now fits. Apparently the company who made the top was using one large newborn as a model. Anyways, it's still cute, and we still love our Uncle Matt.

For my viewers who care about trivial things like haircuts

What happens when you're bored and a friend who cuts hair is over...a new hairdo! After rounding up some dull scissors from Geoff's shaving kit, she chopped off the locks and I've got short hair again. It's funky fresh. Lets be honest, I've had about every hair length known to womankind, so the shock value of going short is gone for me. Here is a curlier version of this Sliding Door-esque haircut, post a mad game of badminton. Thank you Lindsay!
