Some of the activities we did

Here is a picture of Geoff and I at the top of Diamond Head. It was not a hard hike, but the last set of stairs about did me in. You should have seen all the looks I got on this trip for being pregnant! The view is beautiful at the top, you can see all of Waikiki and beyond.

My favorite sign, my favorite surf town.

At Hanauma Bay. Geoff was in heaven snorkeling. I freaked out and went back in. It made me feel really calusterfobic and I did not like it at all. Geoff also saw a huge turtle at Waimea when he was snorkeling around! Pretty much I think my husband is the hottest man alive if you were wondering.

Goat Island

Ahh, Goat Island. I spent my last day in Hawaii there 10 years ago, thinking I'd probably never come back. How lucky am I that I got to go again? Geoff and I walked the half mile or so out to this island and spent the day there having a picnic and walking around the island. It has the most beautiful cove there that I just love. It was quite trecherous going out (you're on a coral reef the whole time), and even more so going back as the tide came up. I had my camera triple wrapped in all sorts of bags because I knew I would be sad if I didn't get any pictures out there. Thankfully, Geoff was a little more steady and took the camera as I had a couple close calls with the reef.

Pearl Harbor

Geoff and I both enjoyed learning more about our nation's history on a tour about Pearl Harbor. What a sad day in history it was. So many lives lost.

Geoff jumping off the rock at Waimea

I was kind of bummed not to be able to do this with him. It was one of my favorite things to do!

Some beach pictures

Watching the sun set ON Sunset Beach, doesn't get much better than this.

Dole Pineapple Plantation

If you've never seen how a pineapple grows, it's quite amazing. We went on a tour of Mr. Dole's plantation and learned a lot. I also learned that my parents really must have hated me when they suggested that I work on a pineapple plantation. Did you know they plant each BY HAND and harvest each BY HAND, and they must be fully clothed from head to toe and wear gloves??? After I got over the shock that I must have been a really bad kid, we enjoyed delicious pineapple icecream.

Maunawilli Falls

This is a gorgeous hike that I went on when I lived in Hawaii and knew Geoff would love. It was so beautiful and so fun to be walking around in such lush tropical forest. Geoff climbed to the top and jumped off, and then hiked back up to the top and went down several natural waterslides that lead to the falls. I didn't think climbing up the slippery rock was such a good idea in my "condition" however,.

We're back!

We made it back safely and I'm so happy that it's nice and warm here in Utah so I'm not going through serious withdrawls. Our trip was amazing, and we coveted each day we had there. Here are a picture of my feet in the sand at Sunset Beach. I post this picture in honor of my feet in their previoius form...the 6 hour flight in the plane to Vegas, and then 5 hour drive home in the car did a number on them. I never got swollen feet with Isaac, but you should see mine right now, or rather last night when I attempted to waddle out of the car. I am not kidding when I say that I seriously could be a hobbit foot model for the next Lord of the Rings. It is riduculous, and disgusting. Speaking of, I need to go put them up. I'll post more pictures soon.

So long, farewell...aloha?

See you all in a week! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures, soak up lots of sun, eat lots of pineapple, oh yes, and enjoy a week without a child (who will be sorely missed, but is in very good hands).

Getting it out of his system...hopefully

And here is my little brother, Luke. Are you dying? He's quite the character. This is his most recent hairdo. He's been growing those greasy locks for quite some time and recently turned them into dreds, which turned into a mohawk of sorts, which will all be shaved off this week! He's preparing for his mission, and this was something he always wanted to do. So props to you brother, and thanks be praised you'll be entering the world of normalcy soon.

By the way, the first picture of him smiling was a total fluke. He refused to make any sort of normal face (as you can see by the other two). You should see the other ones I took!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Although I was wishing for yesterday's weather, Easter turned out lovely. I cooked up a ham, cheesy potatoes, orange bunny buns, veggies, and fresh pineapple, followed by a tasty chocolate/whipcream cake topped with Peeps of course! Phew, that's a lot of cooking. It was so fun to have Geoff's sister's family over, as well as his brother Steve and his girlfriend Megan, and my little brother Luke. It's so nice to have family close by. Isaac and his cousins all enjoyed the Easter egg hunt tremendously. And for the record, he DID have a basket, but his father sent him out with a plastic bag! His favorite part of the day (I'm guessing) was opening his present from the Easter Bunny...a Curious George DVD. Boy does this kid love monkeys!

Our brave boy

I wrote earlier that Isaac's surgery was on Thursday, I meant Wednesday, today. He did great, and aside from a real long and annoying wait at the hospital, it all went just as planned. We hope this will do the trick!

More pictures of Olea

Isaac and I go over to Kristina and Bella's house often since they live around the corner. This time I brought my camera to get some shots of the kiddos playing around and that delicious bundle-Olea. For many more, go to this link. The wall in their bedroom is painted with metallics so the pictures are extra interesting (to me at least) with the way the light played off of it.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...we don't even know.

Isaac was jumping around with Geoff's swim goggles on yesterday and it was too funny. I don't know what it is about goggles or glasses, but he immediately puts them on upside down! What a funny kid.

As an update-we take Isaac in on Thursday for his second eye surgery (to put tubes in). The first one didn't seem to do anything, so we're hoping this will do the trick. It's another quick one thankfully. And, I had my 30 week check up today and everything seems to be in order. She's head down now (and my back does not thank her for it), and growing just as she should be. I must admit, I'm getting a little anxious to have this little girl here, but I'm grateful for the time to prepare beforehand, and boy is she a lot easier to take care of in here!

Two weeks till Hawaii anyone???

What a wonderful weekend

My dad was in town for the wonderful and quite amazing event of my 80 year old grandma's baptism into the LDS church. This was the product of years and years of prayers on her behalf. I can only imagine the joy my dad felt as this has been his greatest desire since he was baptized himself, 39 years ago. The baptism was beautiful and so special. Her husband of a month (baptised only a short few weeks ago himself!) was able to baptize her. I am so grateful I was able to be a part of the special event. I'll cherish this picture of the two of us, even with her wet hair!
