A good day for jumping
In an attempt to not be too busy for my kids (see below post), Isaac and I taught Lucy how to hit a ball today, had a "snowball fight" with the blossoms from our snowball tree, then went in and jumped on my bed and played Ring Around the Rosy for a good half hour. It feels good to get my priorities straight.

Busy
I've been busy. Busy with design deadlines, busy being a mom and a wife, busy trying to train for another race...busy. Maybe someday I'll find the time to change my 2008 banner, or finish my new website, or post pictures from Geoff and Isaac's trip down the Green River, but until then just know that I am here and happy, just busy.

Lucy Marseille
One crazy monkey
Birthday boy
Yesterday was Geoff's birthday. He chose to celebrate it by cleaning out his closet and the garage, going for a road ride, picnic up at Squaw Peak where we dropped him off to mountain bike, finishing it up with dinner and Star Trek with yours truly. Love you!
Isaac asked when we were making cards for Geoff, how to write "You're my best buddy."
Geoff caught a grasshopper for Lucy and she was pleased as punch.

What makes your life beautiful?
This is the question I was asked by Michelle from Lovely by M. If you're wondering what my answer was, go on over and check it out.

Adventure Racers
Geoff, my two bothers, Matt and Seth, and Geoff's sister's husband, Nick, signed up as a team to do an Adventure Race in Colorado that happened this last weekend. The adventure race involved running, kayaking, and mountain biking, all while orienteering with a compass to find the correct route. The boys had a great time together and I was so proud of them! This also marked the 20th anniversary of my brother Matt's kidney transplant (my mom gave him a kidney). In honor of that, I designed a logo for their shirts and they surprised Matt with it. Incase you can't tell what it is that small, it's three kidneys and reads "United We Filter". I thought I was real funny.
The trip started out wonderfully as Matt met up with them in Provo and realized he forgot his mountain bike. Isaac offered his bike to him, but they ended up renting one at BYU and it all worked out fine.
My favorite story from the trip occurred after the kayaking portion. They quickly changed clothes into biking attire. Nick was looking everywhere for his biking spandex, only to discover that he had grabbed his wife's. Thank goodness spandex is stretchy!
They finished the course in 5hours and jumped in the car for a long drive home just so they could be back for Mother's Day for their wives. Aren't they sweet!

Melting my heart
I got the kids ready for Livi's birthday party and then I realized how dang cute my kids are. They let me drag them out for a few pictures and I was so pleased with the outcome. FINALLY!
And yes, I made my blog layout bigger because I love this one so much. Can those of you on laptops still see the whole window or do you have to scroll over?
I know I'm biased, but isn't she beautiful!
Lest you think my kids always pose well for pictures:

the Walkers
I never tire of time spent with this family. We've been friends for what seems like forever (Geoff and Blake are both from Canada and both served missions in Southern France). They are hilarious and quirky and make some dang cute blondies.

How our lawn gets mowed
This kid comes from two long lines of hard workers. He LOVES to work, to the point where he goes over to our neighbor's houses when they are outside working so he can help. I'm not kidding. Love this boy AND Mr. Hardworker #1!
I've had some requests for the technical info on some of my shots, here you go: ISO 200, 24mm, 640/f4.0. Sharpened in Photoshop and that's it.
Laura and the last year of my 20s
As I mentioned before, my little sister Laura was in town over what happened to be my birthday. It was wonderful to spend it with her and her husband. We ate some delicious food, laughed, shopped, ate a whole lot of Red Mango, and stayed up way past her bedtime. I love my baby sister!
And here's a picture of the DELICIOUS meal that Geoff, Laura and Jared whipped up for me. I was forcefully kicked out of the kitchen. Apparently I tend to take over in there...

Biking and Puddle Jumping
Laura and Jared (my sister and brother-in-law) came and spent the weekend with us and we had such a wonderful time. Jared has been itching to go mountain biking and Geoff gladly obliged. This is how they came home:
Let's talk about Isaac's face in this one.
Or about my husband's mud unibrow.
While I was out taking pictures of them, Lucy and Isaac spotted this huge puddle and since I had the camera...
My little froggy who was inspired by his dad and took the training wheels off his bike and then rode it like he'd been doing it for years. What the? (video to come)
