While I don't claim to be the expert in all things photography related, I AM an expert in my style and how I do photography. So, if you like my results and want to learn more about how to get fantastic photos with your camera, please sign up!

I do not offer an online class at this time. In my experience with online classes, they have been sub par and I haven't determined how to do one yet that is interactive and beneficial. I do however, do one-on-one training for $60/hr, if this is more the route you are hoping to go.

Seating is limited to 30. If interest exceeds that, I will offer an additional class at a later time. My training will be tailored to digital SLR's and Adobe Photoshop.

I look forward to meeting you!

My baby's FOUR!

Technically he's been four for a month now, but we celebrate a month later so that he can have his own special day (Christmas is pretty hard to compete with). I decided to do friend parties every other year, so this year we had over the limited family that was in town and Isaac's best grown-up buddy, our neighbor Bryan.

We had a day of his favorites, which included: powdered doughnuts and bacon for breakfast, homemade mac n'cheese and quesadillas for dinner, cupcakes with green frosting, and a night out at the BYU basketball game. He was so embarrassed with all the attention that he walked around with his eyes closed most of the time (or made faces like the one he's making with the cupcake). It was funny, and a little weird.

The cast is off!

After waiting almost an hour and half at the doctor's office (a HUGE pet peeve of mine), Lucy's cast was removed. It's very tender still and she carries it like it's still in the cast, but can I tell you how excited I am to give her a normal bath?

After getting her cast off, we drove to Heber (and then on to Park City for the rest of the day) where Geoff did a student teacher observation while I played at McDonalds with the kids. It had "grown-up" toys, so Isaac was in heaven. You might notice that he is freshly shoren, that would be due to the fact that he decided bangs are lame and cut them.

Class anyone?

Photobucket
This is Shanna. She is a photographer here in Utah who asked if I would spend an hour with her doing a bit of training. We had a great time together, even though we both had to sit in front of the camera-ugh!

It's only fair to post one she took of me.

She mentioned how helpful she felt our training session was so I thought I'd see if there is any interest out there from my fellow bloggers for a more formal class. This would involve a mini shoot and Photoshop training. If there's enough interest, I just might entertain the idea.

Leave me a comment if you're interested and I'll work out the details if there are more than one of you...

Lucy Marseille

Someday I'll get a picture of her real smile, or maybe even a picture of her AND Isaac together. In the meantime, this is what I have, a picture of her enamored with the dogs in The Fox and the Hound.

I finally got a picture of the lip thing she does when she's being shy or concentrating. She is just so kissable!

Still here

I really need to get my camera out! I've been getting caught up on my OTHER work and spending time with the kids. I reinstated "quiet time" for Isaac and it's been a dream. Thank you Amy for the kitchen timer, it's worked wonders!

Thank you for all the well wishes on behalf if Lucy. She is doing well and her weekly x-rays show she is healing properly.

Also, thank you for such a wonderful response to my adoption post. I have had a flood of emails and it makes me feel good to think that this blog might actually do some good!

Adoption

You may remember this family from previous shoots and this precious baby girl that they adopted. The mother just contacted me concerning the agency that they adopted from. Right now they have 10 African American birth mothers all due from this month to June and NONE have chosen families for their babies. The chances are good that they would be matched with a birth mother and the family will have a baby in their home in the next few months. It would be a private adoption, so it is expensive, but there is information on financing private adoptions.

I've seen very closely the wonderful benefits of adoption. I am a huge advocate of it, and that is why I have chosen to post this. If you are interested in more information about adopting, send me an email to my pelousedesign account (linked under my photography), and I will direct to you whom you need to speak with.

Let's find these sweet babies loving homes!

Puppies

Our friend's dog just had puppies. They are full bred Golden Retrievers and DARLING. Apparently they get even cuter and more take-homeable in the following weeks. I'm not sure we can go back because at 2 weeks old, they were already very persuasive.

Happy New Year??

Photobucket
As you might gather from the picture, we spent New Year's Eve at the hospital. Lucy fell down the stairs and after taking a nap, it was clear all was not well. A trip to the doctor, then to the hospital for x-rays, and finally to the ER confirmed that she broke both her radius and ulna (forearm bones) by her elbow. Thankfully, her growth plate was not affected, and the bones were not moved. She's doing much better now thanks to some Tylenol with codeine and extra lovin'.

Aside from a bit of a rough start, I am excited for this new year and look back fondly at the last. Thank you to friends, family, and clients who made it such a wonderful year. I look forward to this next year with much anticipation!

Back in town

I've returned from a perfect trip home to Corvallis Oregon where I was able to spend some quality time with each of my siblings (minus Missionary Luke) and my parents. Superhero Geoff stayed home with the kids, where the fine dining extended from sugar cereals to fish sticks and Chuck E Cheese. He's definitely their favorite, I have no hope.

Since my sister Laura was married in Utah, they had a Open House to celebrate their marriage for all the Oregon folk. My mom and family who were there to help with the prep work outdid themselves with homemade crepes and just about any topping for them that you could think of. It was divine!

I only wish I was as funny as whomever they are talking to here.

Brother Seth and baby Tom Tom. (just back from living in Ghana)
Photobucket
Let me just preface these pictures by telling you that I despise guns. Truly. Apparently after I left the house and my dad had the younger boys at home, they got into shooting clay pigeons. Here's most of the shooting clan on our backyard acting as "Sweet Home" (town in Oregon) as they could for the picture. I might also add that my sister-in-law Caroline is referred to as Annie Oakley now, she was scary accurate.
Photobucket
And here is my brother Seth forcing me to shoot the gun. Thanks be praised that no one was taking a video because it was, dare I say, one of the more embarrassing moments of my life. And believe me, that's saying something.
